Job Description
Responsibilities:
- The main purpose of this position is to prepare new processes and products for manufacturing, support existing processes and products, and identify and complete projects focused on reducing costs
- The significant duties and responsibilities are:
- Develop, refine, and document both assembly and test manufacturing processes
- Design and develop fixtures for assembly and test processes
- Continuously improve products & processes (using Lean and 6-Sigma techniques)
- Identify and implement tools to increase product throughput and lower cost
- Perform failure analysis and utilize problem solving skills to determine root cause
- Implement corrective actions to eliminate root causes of failures
- Lead or be a member of cross functional teams
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience:
- With assembly of precision mechanical, electrical and/or optical products
- Plastic injection and rubber (injection or transfer) molding process development experience also preferred, with mold design experience a plus
- Ability to lead teams
- Excellent coaching skills – ability to transfer knowledge to assembly and test technicians
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Working knowledge of CAD and 3-D solid modeling
- Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Microsoft Office® software suite
