Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with and manages vendor relationships relating to systems, servers, and storage
- Responsible for the maintenance of service records and warranties on systems hardware or software
- Leads day to day activities of systems engineering and administration team members
- Completes performance reviews and mentoring of systems engineering and administration team
- Leads the System team in the management, organization, design and implementation of approved technologies relating to the physical or virtual servers, operating systems, and storage platforms
- Supports strong teamwork and cooperation within the Converged Systems team and with other IT staff
- Responsible for keeping abreast of current technologies to better assist in the deployment and support of new technology for the organization
- Responsible for maintenance and security review of system endpoints located within the Enterprise including patch management, system log analysis, and
- Responsible for planning, implementation, and testing of system backup and recovery procedures
Assists the systems team in all areas of:
Server and Network Support
- Provide hardware and software support for various Intel platforms and operating systems
- Work closely with Parent Organizations to support shared systems and applications
- Work with Network Engineers for troubleshooting of LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/VPN connectivity
- Provide the Helpdesk and support teams with quality support in a timely manner
- Provide scheduled and emergency Administrative Support outside normal business hours (providing 24×7 coverage)
Systems Administration
- Manages user accounts and file and print sharing configuration
- Administer the Active Directory enterprise domain
- Capture, Analyze, Monitor Server and Network performance
- Make recommendations and prepare reports regarding Server and Network performance
- Control and contain Systems And Network Incidents and Emergency repairs
- Design, Implement and Manage user and system policies for Systems and Network security and Approved Resources usage
- Schedule and execute regular Data Backups and Recoveries as required, performs verification and validation of Data Backup and Disaster Recovery options
- Manages, Administers and Monitors VMware and Citrix virtual environments
- Maintain & implement the centralized software distribution and asset tracking
- Maintain internal DHCP and DNS Servers
- Manage external DNS for Company’s Registered Domains
- Support the Development and Maintenance of Desktop and Laptop universal imaging
Systems Engineering
- Keeps abreast of new technology that can fit Percepta needs
- Evaluates current Systems Solutions, makes recommendations for change
- Creates project plans for engineering tasks and presents to manage team for approval
- Provides Escalation Tier Support break/fix scenarios relating to new and existing technologies
- Creates new solution support plans for Administration and support teams
Qualifications:
Education
- BS degree in Information Systems or 15 years of experience in Enterprise System (Highly preferred because this person will be managing)
- Relative current technical certifications
- Advanced certifications {MCSA / MCSE / MCTIP / CCNA / VCP}
Experience
- 10 Years as Senior or Principle Systems Administer in an enterprise environment
- In depth knowledge of Storage Arrays and associated Storage Technologies
- In depth knowledge DHCP, DNS, Windows Active Directory Multi-Site Models, Windows 7/10, Linux
- In depth Knowledge of VMware ESXi Virtualization, iSCSI and Fiber Channel
- Working knowledge of Systems Security
